Fostering Sustainability helps clients take a comprehensive approach to developing environmental sustainability action plans that incorporate environmental, social and economic considerations. We will help you overcome campus sustainability challenges and set a path for the future for your institution to become a model of environmental stewardship.

SERVICES:

Campus sustainability assessment to determine baseline conditions, benchmark environmental performance and identify opportunities for reducing environmental impacts.

Provide information to help meet the requirements of CAIS National Standards and Guidelines, especially those Effective Practices related to environmental responsibility.

Support for a range of environmental initiatives including: recycling and waste reduction, water and energy conservation, reducing paper consumption, green purchasing, sustainable food services, environmentally friendly housekeeping and janitorial products, sustainable landscape and grounds management, green building construction and alternative transportation use.

Recommend goals and action plans with measurable outcomes and indicators to track progress going forward.

Engage and educate the College community in conservation and demand management practices aimed at reducing the College’s overall ecological footprint.

Identify opportunities for transforming the College’s campuses into learning laboratories for demonstration of sustainable technologies.

Support faculty in developing curricula to prepare students with skills required to tackle the challenges of a sustainable society.
